The short answer

Ravenna's cruise terminal is at Porto Corsini, outside the city, and is used by some lines as a 'Venice' alternative. Ravenna expects a record 2026 with 71 homeport sailings. A new terminal building is under construction, so expect some work areas.

Where to stay

Arrive a day or two early. A delayed flight on sailing day is the most common way travelers miss the ship.

See the famous mosaics, then a short transfer to Porto Corsini.

Terminals & docks

One cruise terminal at Porto Corsini, run by Ravenna Civitas Cruise Port. 2026 forecast: 111 calls (71 homeport). A new two-floor terminal for two ships at once is being built. Royal Caribbean moved one Aug 10, 2026 sailing from Ravenna to Trieste because of a berth conflict caused by construction delays.

Check-in

  • Arrive at your assigned check-in time.
  • Construction at the terminal may change walking routes.

What trips people up

  • Ravenna is sold as 'Venice' by some lines, but it is about 2 hours from Venice.
  • The port is outside the city, and public transport links are limited.
  • Your sailing may be moved to another port (as Royal Caribbean did for Aug 10, 2026).

Do this

  • Book the cruise line transfer from Bologna or Venice.
  • Watch your email for port changes in 2026.
Homeward bound

Leaving the ship: back to the airport

The same routes run in reverse. On the last morning everyone leaves at once, so lines for taxis and buses are at their longest. Book flights home for the afternoon or later, and arrange your ride in advance if you can.
