Molde is a docked port with the ship right in town. The famous view from Varden is above town, and the Atlantic Road is a longer drive. Both are easy to do in a day.
Where Molde lies
Where your ship docks
Ships dock at Storkaia, a 300 m quay in the town center. A second berth, Moldegård, is 130 m. If a ship anchors, the tender pier is about 500 m from the anchorage.
Shuttle. Not needed. The ship docks in the center.

Fees, money and access
Rules & fees
- Norway has no cruise passenger tax in 2026. A national fee of NOK 100 per passenger per 24 hours in port is proposed from January 1, 2027, if approved (reported by The Local Norway, March 2026). Norway's separate local tourist tax of up to 3% applies to hotel stays, not cruise passengers.
Accessibility
Docked in the center; the town front is flat. Varden and the hiking trails are steep. Taxis can reach the top viewpoint.
Money
Norwegian krone (NOK). Cards, including tap-to-pay, work almost everywhere. Many places take no cash. Bring a card with no foreign transaction fee.
